Big Bear Ride
August 17, 2003
We met for breakfast at Norm’s. This proved to be a bad idea because it took them over an hour to serve us. It worked out ok though because we had a couple of late arrivals. Then it seems that we had gotten our signals crossed and neither Kevin nor I knew where we were supposed to get off the freeway at. So I ran home to get the map and then we headed out. Other than the fact that we started way late, it was a good ride. By the time we got close to Big Bear, it started to cool off and I don’t think it did here. We had a great lunch at BJ’s Subs and then took a nice ride through Fawnskin on the back side of the lake before heading back down. As we came down, it got pretty hot and we had to stop a couple of times to cool off and get some water, but other than a little too much sun, be had another great ride. We had some new riders this time and I think they enjoyed the day with us. I hope more of you join us on future rides, but till then, I’ll see you on the byways…
