This Idyllwild ride was a new ride for our club. We met at Norms on Euclid in Anaheim for breakfast at 8:30 and started the ride about 9:30. We started the ride by heading up through Carbon Canyon, but then headed across cattle country. This is not a usual ride and after riding the bone jarring roads in this area, I know why. Still it was a nice ride and we did get a chance to see some of the animals not normally seen around the LA area. After leaving this aromatic area, we rode through San Timoteo Canyon and into Banning. We stopped for gas before heading up the mountain and on to Idyllwild. We stopped at a great picnic spot along the way and got some great pictures. After having lunch in a very warm (at least considering how cold we were) Good Times Pub and Grill, we headed down the other side of the mountain. This was another of those fantastic curvy mountain roads that we live to ride. A quick jaunt across the high desert and back to the 91 freeway put us right in the middle of the Sunday night return traffic jam with everyone trying to get home in time to see the Angels win the World Series in game 7. Till next time.
