Ride around town.
This ride started out with a great breakfast at IHOP. They were busy, but made room for us and were very pleasant. One member called and said they were on their way, so we waited a few minute for them. We hit the road and a mile or so later got caught in road construction. By the time we got to the first stop, we were already 30 minutes late. We did however pick up another rider here. By this time I had managed to loose my turn-by-turn instruction list to the wind. No mater, we had picture maps and it was a ride after all. You can’t get lost on a ride, not if you like to ride. We did miss one turn and hit a dead end, but in an area none of us had been before, with a great view. We had a good laugh and headed back to the planned route. By the time we got to the next stop we were about an hour behind. Even with this little problem, another rider joined our group. We were now 12 people, 9 bikes and one follow car. We headed for the beach, took a quick dip back inland through Laguna canyon, made another short break at the next stop, where we were now about an hour and a half late, and were told by the attendants that there had been 4 riders waiting around a couple of hours earlier. Oops. So for any riders we missed, I sincerely apologize and hope you went on the ride anyway. Next time you will all have my number. From here we decided it was time to get some lunch, so we headed down to Huntington Beach to a place called Lou’s Barbeque. By the time we were done eating, and chatting, it was nearly 5 pm and some of the riders had to be getting home. A few of us continued the run, but it was getting dark and by the time we completed the route we needed our headlights. It sounds a little like we had problems, but this was one of the best runs we had because everyone had a good time with lots of laughs. I hope to see more of you on the road. Till then…………
